January is always a hard month for fashion. It is cold outside, but in your mind you are ready for spring clothing and accessories! This month is a great time to look into the trends for the upcoming spring season and see what works for you. If you are in retail you know that spring clothing starts hitting stores in January so it is time to get on it! This time is all about transitioning your wardrobe from winter to spring.

Here a few of my favorite trends for the week.

I love how much Halston Heritage evokes such high energy with their line. It is accessible, yet it looks original depending on who is wearing it. Their dresses have an effortlessly chic feel to them, but right now I am loving this silver pleated skirt. I am so glad that metallic has been huge for the last several years because I will always be obsessed with it. This skirt is a great buy for spring because you can tuck any blouse into it for a look that is put together and easy. The blouse is coming back in a big way for spring so you will be seeing this look everywhere. Fuller skirts are also making a comeback!

I love everything about this look. The Chris Benz Lurex tee makes it feel like a daytime way to wear intense metallic. I love the slightly slouchy silhouette of the top mixed with the relaxed pants. The whole ensemble is shades of gray and silver which is such an unexpected way to work this trend. This is not a statement for everyone, but it is worth a try if you are fashion forward.

I love camel and tobacco colors as the spring approaches. Say goodbye to dark brown and black! Well, I can never fully say goodbye to my black clothing, but it is nice to have a little departure every now and again. Mixing camel with silver and rose gold metallics is a great way to make your look pop. I love this Tibi ‘Charlie’ skirt- the length is fantastic for women who don’t like short skirts.

Because of my metallic obsession, I absolutely love rose gold. It is a little bit softer than gold and it flatters every skin tone. This Jules Smith statement ring manages to be both large and delicate. Gemstones are very big for spring- think agate, quartz, and uncut coral and turquoise.

M Missoni always gets it right. Their double wrap belt in this gorgeous cognac color is to die for! It literally goes with everything in your closet and cinches in your waist perfectly! I am coveting this!

And last but not least, SCARVES! I can never have enough scarves. They are a fantastic finishing touch on any outfit. They always make my look feel ‘done’. I especially love bold, vivid colors and prints. They look great against neutral-colored clothing. For the spring, it is all about being bold! I love DVF’s Jaeda scarf. It’s perfection!
