Ashlee Simpson To Divorce Pete Wentz

Well, this came out of nowhere!

Ashlee Simpson Wentz has filed for divorce from her husband of almost three years, Pete Wentz. Her rep released this statement to PEOPLE:

“After careful consideration, we have made the difficult decision to file for divorce,” the couple said through a spokesperson. “We remain friends and deeply committed and loving parents to our son Bronx, whose happiness and well-being remains our number one priority. We ask that everyone honor our privacy as we navigate this next phase of our lives.”

The couple got married in May 2008 and welcomed their son, Bronx, in November of 2008.

It is crazy that both Jessica and Ashlee got divorced around the three year mark. Who would have thought? Jessica was a divorcee at age 25 and now Ashlee will be single again at age 26. We all know that a single Ashlee means trouble! I am sure that she will be dating a lot of men before settling down again.

It must have been difficult for Ashlee to come to the decision to divorce when her sister is busy planning a wedding. At least Ashlee and Pete seem to be splitting with a mature attitude. No drama yet!
