The Best & Worst Dressed At The SAG Awards

The SAG Awards brought some much needed color back to the red carpet! I was getting so tired of all of those black dresses from last week! The big trends on the red carpet stayed similar to the Globes: the color white, one-shoulder dresses, and flattering drapery. I also saw a lot of vivid color: red, emerald green, and shades of purple and pink dominated the carpet.

I have three best dressed nominees this week. Kate Hudson, Diane Kruger, and Lea Michelle.

First of all, Lea Michelle had a pretty dress last week, but it looked like she was trying too hard. She wanted to look like  a younger Penelope Cruz or Eva Longoria. This week she kept it young and fresh in a gorgeous emerald green Catherine Malandrino dress with a plunging neckline. The color was absolutely gorgeous with her dark hair and the dress fit her perfectly. She also didn’t overdo it on the accessories. Lea is definitely going to be one to watch on the red carpet. She makes sure to dress the polar opposite of her character in Glee.

Kate Hudson’s dress last week was just okay. I liked the dress, but not so much for her. This week, she looked absolutely flawless. I loved the bright white color of her Pucci dress and the low back just oozed pure sex appeal. She topped it off with Cartier jewels that fell down her back. Take that A-Rod! Kate Hudson is single and loving it, until she finds another man….but that is a whole different story!

Diane Kruger is beautiful, but last week her dress was ill-fitting and heinous. At the SAG Awards, she looked like the glam fashion icon that she has become. She wore a long marigold one-shoulder dress by Jason Wu. The color of the dress worked perfectly with her fair skin and red lips. Her best accessory was her boyfriend Joshua Jackson. He is always content to let her shine on the red carpet and you have got to love a guy like that.

The worst dressed on the red carpet was (surprise, surprise) Patricia Arquette. Emerald girl and sequins should never go together. Homegirl needs a stylist asap. Why does she keep assaulting us with her style? I know fashion isn’t important to some people, but if she hired a stylist than she wouldn’t even have to think about what to wear.

The most improved of the week was definitely Tina Fey. She chose a beautiful purple satin dress with a more flattering fit. She looked much more like the talented star that she is.

I can’t even wait for the red carpet at the Grammy’s! With celebs like Rihanna, Taylor Swift, and Lady Gaga in the same room, the fashion is going to be amazing!
