Jessica Simpson Talks Weight And John Mayer On Oprah

Jessica Simpson went on The Oprah Winfrey Show yesterday to discuss the “Mom Jeans” scandal, her feelings about John Mayer, and her new show “The Price of Beauty”. It seems that Jessica gets really emotional when it comes to talking about beauty, weight and a woman’s self-image. This show should be a nice break from the typical reality show fodder that we are surrounded with everyday. The only thing I wish that Oprah had talked about was her relationship with Tony Romo. What happened there? One minute she was completely in love with him and then the next he was breaking up with her! I wanted Jess to go into more detail about her divorce, her relationships, and her show!

Here are some highlights:

On John Mayer calling her “crack cocaine” and talking about their sex life:

“I tried to read the article, and I was so disappointed in him,” she tells Oprah Winfrey. “It made me so sad, and it was really discouraging because that’s not the John that I knew…I hope he gets his life together.” She admitted she was “a little angry” about his rant.  “I don’t want people to know how I am in bed!”

“He did apologize. I don’t accept it. It’s just one of those things that…I don’t resent him. I’m just going to let that go. That part of my life is over.”

“It would bother any woman, I would think,” she says of the jibes. “I had to get to a place where I had to guard myself.”

On the “Mom jeans” incident:

She also reveals that the infamous “Mom jeans” in the photos of her in early 2009 were a size four. “I fluctuate from 4 to 6,” she explains.

And she is comfortable in her own skin. “I’m not going to ever be size 0, and I don’t want to weigh 90 pounds…It’s a really hard thing for me to talk about because I celebrate women of all sizes. I think that we’re all beautiful.”

The singer says that she copes with all of the scrutiny by turning to her family and her close friends.

She is such a different, more centered person from the girl who thought tuna was chicken!
