Blake Lively Nabs The Lead In The Green Lantern Movie

Blake Lively is going to be a movie star, y’all. Like, seriously. How did this happen? I will never know. Blake Lively can hardly get through an episode of Gossip Girl without looking like it was the hardest thing she has ever done so I really don’t know how she beat out Eva Green, Jennifer Garner, and Diane Krueger for the lead. The Green Lantern is supposed to be one of the most anticipated blockbusters of 2011 and with Ryan Reynolds already attached as Hal Jordan (aka The Green Lantern) it is sure to do well.

Lively will play (don’t laugh) Carol Ferris, an aerospace executive who runs her father’s company and hires Hal as a test pilot. Yes, Blake Lively is going to play an aerospace executive. Do I smell a Razzie award in her future?

This movie is a HUGE break for her so expect to see lots of her on the red carpet in the shortest dresses you have ever seen. Obviously, she will still continue her role on Gossip Girl but since filming begins in March it might affect the extent of her role on the show. Everyone only watches Gossip Girl anymore for the clothes so as long as they can throw her in there every once in awhile in some couture, we will all be fine!
