2012 Golden Globes: Top 5 Best Dressed

Awards season is one of my favorite times of the year! Obviously, the red carpet is my obsession. I always want to be blown away by someone’s dress and I can’t wait to see what the trends will be for the season. This year is wonderful for the glam factor because so many gorgeous actresses will be attending!

Let’s start by talking about some of the major trends I saw on the red carpet.

1. Headbands. Love it. Charlize Theron’s diamond Cartier headband was perfection. I expect that a lot of brides will look into wearing a jeweled headpiece this year. No tiaras, please.

2. Blush. This is one of my favorite colors of all time and I will never be sick of it. It’s the ultimate soft and romantic color and manages to make anyone look ethereal.

3. Peacock Blue. Again, this color is GORGEOUS. I love how rich and vibrant it is. I loved seeing it on the red carpet instead of navy.

4. Soft make-up. I did not see very many smokey eyes on this red carpet. Everyone’s make-up was dewy and pretty. I especially loved how Charlize and Jessica Alba glowed on the carpet. There seemed to be an emphasis on having flushed cheeks. Ladies, break out your blush!

Okay, let’s get down to business.

The top 5 best dressed.

Charlize Theron was my absolute favorite. I fell in love with her blush Dior Haute Couture gown! She looked perfect. The vintage Cartier headband only added to her angelic look. I can always count on Charlize to bring the pretty. Stunning!

Jessica Alba wore a beautiful pale purple beaded Gucci gown with Bulgari jewels. Look at that skin! She had the best make-up, hands down. I absolutely love the fit and color of her dress. It is hard to believe that she had a baby a few months ago. She has never looked better.

Speaking of never looking better, Salma Hayek looked radiant last night. I loved her gold and black metallic Gucci gown. It was an appropriate dress for someone who was presenting. She wasn’t trying to overshadow any of the nominees, but you definitely had to notice her! Absolutely gorgeous.

No matter what Angelina Jolie wears, she is going to look amazing. On anyone else, her white Atelier Versace dress would have been underwhelming. On her, however, the dress looked amazing. I loved the red accent framing her face and her red Christian Louboutin clutch. Her face looked flawless. I always love the red lip especially on someone as beautiful as her. Obviously, it doesn’t hurt that her date was Brad Pitt!

And last but not least, Sofia Vergara! She certainly knows how to accentuate her shape. I loved everything about her peacock blue Vera Wang dress. It fit beautifully and the color was the perfect compliment to her skin tone. She was also decked in Harry Winston jewels. I love those bangles! Sofia has had quite the evolution on the red carpet: she went from dressing too conservatively to learning how to look sexy without going overboard.
