Jake Picks Vienna!

Everyone knew this was coming, but I was STILL shocked when Jake actually picked Vienna last night on The Bachelor. Tenley seemed to be everything that he wanted in a woman on paper, but there was something missing that he couldn’t explain. I was cringing when he told her that he had no chemistry and no heat with her. What woman wants to hear that they have great emotional chemistry with someone, but no physical chemistry? It seemed that Jake felt like he couldn’t really be himself with Tenley- like he had to be some perfect version of himself. Still, he was torn because obviously his family embraced Tenley right off the bat and was more hesitant with Vienna.

During the ATFR show, Jake told Tenley the same thing he told her during the finale. He just didn’t feel something extra that he felt for Vienna. Not much to go on, but that was what she got. After that, I thought that maybe Tenley was going to be replacing Ali as the Bachelorette of choice. Ali, however, was announced as the next Bachelorette and I think she will do a great job. She probably decided half way through the show that she wanted to be able to choose someone instead of fighting for Jake and now she gets the chance!

Jake declared that Vienna was “his baby” and that they were so happy together. US has the scoop:

“People don’t understand why Vienna and are together, and that’s OK,” he said on the After the Final Rose special. “I do – and that’s the important thing.”

Girardi, 23, said when Pavelka, 32, popped the question, “It was just magical.”

She called the moment her ultimate “fantasy, everything I wanted in life.” As she was walking up to Pavelka moments before he proposed, she said she thought, “I couldn’t imagine my life without him.”

Pavelka said that moment was “amazing … It was great to finally say, ‘I love you,’ and get it out there.”

“We’ve talked about getting married, but we haven’t set a date just yet,” said Pavelka, who will return for a romantic trip to the island of St. Lucia with Girardi, courtesy of ABC.

Girardi said she plans to move to Dallas – where Pavelka, a pilot, resides – immediately.

Pavelka said it’ll be “a good change.”

Girardi, who has had to keep their romance quiet for months leading up to the finale, said she is excited to have “some normalcy in our life.”

I wonder what will happen with these two. I can’t see this lasting, sadly. It seems when Jake was explaining that he usually relies on the physical connection and then after a year it feels forced to talk about marriage, it sounded like that is what might happen with Vienna. Either way, we know America will be following!
