The Oscars 2011 Best Dressed!

There was nothing energetic or surprising about The Oscars this year.

The hosts were awkward at best. The presenters were lackluster. The fashion was just decent. Can you tell I wasn’t that into it?

The big four that were a shoe-in for their Oscars ended up winning. I thought there might be an upset with Melissa Leo or Christian Bale, but everything went according to plan!

Natalie Portman redeemed herself by wearing a very pretty Rodarte dress on the red carpet. The big rumor is that she was set to wear Dior until John Galliano’s suspension happened! That must have been a quick change! The deep plum color is beautiful on her and I love the fit. I wish she would have done a different earring, but at least the dress was much improved!

My best dressed of the night were Cate Blanchett, Mila Kunis, Halle Berry, and Anne Hathaway during her hosting duties. I especially loved the long white Givenchy Haute Couture by Riccardo Tisci gown with the crystal bodice and the red Atelier Versace. She looked every inch like the movie star that she is. Even though her personality bugged me at times, I felt bad for her because she basically had to carry the show by herself. I am sure she did not sign up for that!

Cate Blanchett, in my opinion, is always the most daring, fashion forward person on the red carpet. She did not disappoint last night. That Givenchy dress was to die for! It looked like a work of art! I loved the pale purple color with the yellow detail. I know this dress is not for everyone, but I think she looked absolutely amazing.

Mila Kunis has dressed so well during awards season. She kept it soft, pretty, and youthful last night. I loved the lavender Elie Saab dress that she chose. I love the lace detail, the color, and how feminine it was.

Halle Berry doesn’t need a lot to make her look beautiful, but her nude Marchesa dress was gorgeous! She can do no wrong in my eyes. I am also a complete sucker for sparkles and nude so that wins every time!

I also liked Gwyneth Paltrow’s silver Calvin Klein sheath. There was something off about the way the top fit, but homegirl has been working out like a maniac to wear it!
