I Am Officially Obsessed With Flowers
Today, I realized how much I love flowers. I love creating flower arrangements for events, parties, and my home. If I had an unlimited budget, I would create three arrangements per week to display in my house at all times. When I was planning my wedding, deciding what flowers to use and how they would be displayed was one of my favorite parts of the planning. I tend to favor full, lush flowers like peonies, hydrangeas, freesias, roses, and dahlias. I also love the modern simplicity of a white orchid or calla lily. Flowers are just a great touch to an event (or your home) and instantly add warmth.
When it comes to flower color, I tend to lean towards the neutrals. I like mixing soft creams, greens, pale pink, and peach together. I don’t gravitate toward the deep rich colors like orange and red, but there is absolutely a time and place to use those colors. For my rehearsal dinner, I wanted to use a completely different color scheme from the wedding and incorporating fall colored flowers was the perfect way to do it! I loved the contrast.
Whenever I hear about Mindy Weiss planning a wedding, I think FLOWERS. Mindy has it covered. Take this picture (below) from a recent wedding that she planned. Stunning! I love that every single arrangement is different, but they still work around a general theme. I also love the varying heights of the clear glass vases. Perfection!
