I noticed a new place while eating dinner at 24 Diner on 6th and Lamar. 24 Diner was fantastic by the way. Make sure you bring your appetite because the more fattening food that you order, the better! I had a pulled chicken and goat cheese sandwich and it was great!

But I digress…after dinner I saw this new place called Snap Kitchen. I am absolutely obsessed with the trend of healthy food that you can get packaged to go. Basically, the concept is fast food that is healthy and portion controlled. Snap Kitchen looked delicious. Some of the items that they featured were Truffle Quinoa Mac & Cheese, Portabella Mushroom Wraps, Quinoa Fried Rice, and Jalapeno Hummus. I took some Jalapeno hummus and Gluten-free coconut cakes to go!

I have a feeling that I am going to love this place and be a frequent visitor!

Simply Fit Meals is Austin’s newest meal delivery system that provides you with healthy dining options for your day. You have the option of ordering your meals in advance for delivery (there is a fee outside of a one mile radius) or you can drop by the location on West Campus to pick out meals at your leisure.

There are so many great menu choices that don’t even feel like you are giving up the extra calories! Salmon with quinoa or tacos verde are just a few of the nutrious meals you can order! If you are dying to get ready for summer, try the three week challenge where you choose your menu every couple of days for three weeks. They provide you with breakfast, lunch, snacks, and dinner. Delicious!

Jessica Alba is in town to film the new Robert Rodriguez movie, Machete. She has been spotted multiple times dining at the hip Mexican restaurant, La Condesa!

Restaurant To Watch: Garrido’s

Chef David Garrido (he was the head chef at Jeffrey’s) has opened his own restaurant aptly named Garrido’s. The restaurant is on the ground floor of the new 360 condos on Nueces between 3rd and 4th and has the organic, casual atmosphere that Austin is known for. But the best reason to go there? The food, of course!

The menu is not overwhelming with too much selection and is very reasonably priced. You can get your fix of anything from Crispy Pork Carnitas with pickled onions and habanero salsa to Lamb pops with plantain chips and roasted garlic ancho chili sauce. Sounds divine!

I have not had the chance to go to Garrido’s yet, but when I do you guys will be getting my review!

How is it that Lauren Conrad was in Austin this weekend and I had no idea? The reality starlet came down to Texas to celebrate The Lauren Conrad/TheQuad.com Fashion Tour, held at Pangaea in Austin, Texas. I hope all my fellow Texans showed Lauren a good time so she will visit our city again!
